I originally posted the below-linked diatribe (LOL) in order to provide a little incentive for the firemen. They're like dogs. Lead em around. Like they think we're MARKS and they can just lead us to water and make us drink.

They're used to being on a leash. Don't even notice it anymore. Think it's a LIFE. umm whatever, fellas.

LMFAO !!!!!! Every time I have to call (once a day at one thirty or a bit later if the assholes actually have to do some work) unless I get a REAL tech the person on the phone tries to jump to WRITING A TICKET, which has the result of you sitting around waiting for hours for a tech.... THIS SOOO reminds me of the IRA and their urgent need to get a kid into my house. I've begun to think they get the kids in the house and then once they have the detailed info they need or plant a few bugs, they're all SET. They really mucked it up today because twenty minutes after a girl told me (ON VIDEO) that the phone and EVERY piece of equipment tested PERFECT I had to make a second call and yknow CLUE IN IDIOTS.... this guy jumped for 'write a ticket' so fast I got angry with him after he told me there was NO PROOF that someone was tampering with the connection. LMAO one thirty EVERY DAY for three weeks unless the fire pigs are busy (as documented) or traffic is bad and then it's a few minutes or up to half an hour late ... anyway and told him off in official-ese and youtubedom.

Then said goodbye. AND well, there you have it. Joe Durkin, TPD spokesmodel is now the spokesmodel for the brighthouse so we know that can't BE GOOD. Anyway .... it's very childish of them so I am going to take some skin off them now.

Anyway, SKIP the FILTH, we only put it here to PROVE that precedent exists that they follow us around online STILL FOR OVER A YEAR PROVABLE (stalking home after reading about the tampa fireman's prison-bound nephew) including tampering with our internet connection. The stalking (according to those close to me has gone on actively by the Tampa Firemen FOR OVER THREE YEARS) As for me, I might not have noticed it before then. What happened was they had to get right next to me in their deathboxes and run the alarm and startle me. ASSHOLES.
I kinda am in my own world and nothing really changes that. I like it there. It's nice. NO ASSHOLES.

What was mentioned in this post was how we hadn't (other than da hood and the occasional stubborn PERSONAL FIRE PIG) seen a firetruck in weeks almost. Was like normal. Before it was everywhere we went a siren. I have so many phone conversations recorded where I'm talking and the idiots roar by. I hope they all go deaf from stalking CHILDREN. STALKING PIGS !!!! When I mentioned that to a private detective they stopped doing that. LMAO.

STALKING IS A CRIME. Combined with everything else you are causing your personal selves AND THE CITY OF TAMPA TO BE LIABLE FOR A RICO VIOLATION SO HUGE that we'll OWN TAMPA despite the filthy court system I'll have to get all over my shoes. ICK.

Proof or not, yeah, yall stalk us and have all the equipment and track and do business with SEXUAL PREDATORS and in many cases SEEM TO BE sexual predators but you wouldn't do anything silly like tampering with someone's internet connection. Anyway, as mentioned the turnaround time (official asinine response) is usually two days which is true in this case. Also, many of them really live in North Carolina so they were likely up there seeing to their various proeperties. WOW. they sure do HAVE A LOT OF PROPERTY which I'm about to lay out for all to see. ANyway... it all fits everything I've said all along only actually THIS : THIRTEEN SIGHTINGS in the less than FORTY MINUTES I WAS DRIVING probably closer to 34 minutes ..... is light used to be twenty to twenty five. For the naysayers who want to count the ones in the hood ... that's TWO of thirteen today. Also . .. the one guy has changed his saturday DRIVE DOWN THE INTERSTATE NEXT TO ME SCHEDULE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN .. to hang out with my loved one's schedule. SO even if you don't want to count the WIDE OPEN DOOR (which is normally SLAMMED SHUT unless it's a STALKING) on the last photo ... that's still TWELVE in less than forty minutes MAX. I may or may not explain each one and I did blur and crop to disguise some things. But, it's all on video MUCH MORE CLEARLY.

I happen to know of a certain family in tampa where everyone in the family suffers from a disease of some sort and I've been in their home, felt the air and they actually THINK because they've been in tampa long-term that THEY are fucking with me and I have noticed the stuff done against them has lightened somewhat. Soon as I'm finished and that will be decades from now ... so SEE, I'm keeping MANY people safe. While I'm in the way everyone else will be on hold except for a few ... they're letting people out of prison, dropping charges, buying loyalty, shoveling sentences, sending hookers home on probation with SERIOUS charges ... anyway ... I should charge people for this.

They started on the interstate towards me too soon and/or I drove around detailing some things a few minutes extra which I do whenever the hell I feel like it. They're perfectly aware that they are nearly invisible for a certain distance. So, as I videotaped, he looked over AT ME with all the other cars there and then he turned off the flashers they used to get my attention. YOU DO get how many people it takes to set all this up, right??? NO ONE of the other vehicle were using the big flashers or any lights or flashers at all.

ELEVEN MINUTES and YES the below IS a different deathbox. I am, of course, traveling on the interstate. The above is malfunction junction the below is across from DT tampa.

TWELVE MINUTES. You realize there would have had to have been a MASSACRE somewhere for this many fire vehicles to be in the same place at the same time unless they're doing their SIDE JOB (ONE OF THEM) OF STALKING. Also .. like I said, this was a light day. I have on video where in this same drive I've seen OVER THIRTY FIRE TRUCKS. Here, in one-cow Tampa.

FOURTEEN minutes *but he was behind me for some time just roared past with these big noisy tires, you can't see the firepig emblem in the photo but it's good on video. This is my exit so it abates for a few minutes.

Again, you can barely see this one but like with the OTHERS I see this one three to five days a week. IF they're NOT stalking me they're INSIDE locked tight. So, they are backed up where I can see them as I drive where I always drive. AND NO, I AM NOT nitpicking. This is WHAT THEY DO. I can show you all the video of when they do NOT have a big stalking day going down. This one is special because it's in response to my jibe that they are afraid to stalk me now. (third time I got them on this one, first time published)

This guy picked up RIGHT AFTER I turned the corner from from THAT stalking and followed me almost all the way back to the interstate. I had to stop for a minute to go back and get the pic because I only saw him (as he intended) in my rearview as he turned behind me. They also go by blocks away so that it's hard to document physically and, as well, on the crosstown. It's amazing to me that they STOPPED giving out directions, quite likely so that they could spend more time figuring out the minutes between this and that to PERFECT THE STALKING. I forget when they stopped giving directions but I am certain it closely coincides with the uptick in stalking. I only called them for directions like twice and now they don't even answer the phone. AT ALL (cost saving dontcha know) As noted they also won't answer teh door for a little boy who obviously RAN THERE who is screaming that his house in ON FIRE and if you are getting BEATEN TO DEATH they are also busy playing video games (as noted on the morning show)
Hang on the stalking is NOT over yet. I'm sure I overlooked a few. I don't pay that much attention. Ergo the flashing lights. They've learned to get my attention or drat ALL THAT WASTED TIME on this citizen.

TAMPA - Lowry Park Zoo's embattled president should repay the attraction at least $202,000 for animals and equipment he has taken from the complex, according to preliminary results from a city audit released Friday.

The inquiry revealed that the zoo's president and chief executive officer, Lex Salisbury, routinely took zoo animals, equipment and supplies for his private ranch and for a separate business venture. It says he overcharged the zoo when selling his animals but paid below market value when he bought.

In one instance, he acquired a used Mercedes safari truck the zoo had recently bought and refurbished. In return, he gave the zoo a used lawnmower and $3,433.

The lack of documentation means Salisbury could owe much more, said Santiago Corrada, the city's representative on the zoo board.

"There are some serious issues that need to be looked at by law enforcement," said Corrada, the city's administrator of neighborhood services. "These issues were systemic in all areas of the zoo."

Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio said she thinks the zoo's board must fire Salisbury when it convenes an emergency meeting next week to review the audit's findings.

"There has got to be a change in leadership as soon as possible," she said. "I trust the board will do the right thing."

As of late Friday, Tampa police said they had not launched an investigation into the zoo's chief, and the mayor had not asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate, according to FDLE spokeswoman Trena Reddick.

It appears the zoo can terminate Salisbury's employment without any severance pay.

Salisbury's letter of employment expired in January 2006.

Along with his salary, Salisbury receives the use of a Range Rover, which cost up to $93,325, and two zoo-paid trips each year for his wife, one domestic and one international.

Iorio launched the audit after The Tampa Tribune reported that Salisbury had taken zoo animals and resources to help build Safari Wild, a private exotic-animal park he co-owns and plans to open in Polk County. The audit confirmed the incidents reported in the Tribune's investigation and uncovered several others.

The mayor said she was shocked to learn how deeply Salisbury had co-mingled zoo and personal businesses. "I couldn't believe it," she said.

Salisbury, the city auditors wrote, "seems unable to differentiate between his role as CEO of the zoo and the role he plays with his business and his ranch and fails to acknowledge the improprieties even after the results of the audit."

Salisbury often brought his own animals to the zoo for treatment and care, which created added burden for an overtaxed staff, the audit says.

At the same time, Salisbury created a culture in which zoo employees feared they would be fired if they didn't help with his private Polk County venture. Many were so fearful that they were reluctant to speak with city auditors.

Salisbury, who is on paid leave from the $339,000-a-year zoo job, could not be reached for comment. He has said he never improperly profited from his 21-year connection to the zoo.

When the appearance of conflict of interest began to make headlines, zoo board member Bob Merritt told the Tribune the board had reviewed all transactions with Safari Wild and found nothing improper.

Merritt didn't respond to messages seeking comment late Friday.

Instead, Merritt, now board chairman, said in a statement that the zoo has already made significant changes to beef up oversight of the attraction. These include committees to oversee audits, governance and compensation.

"The board is keenly aware that whatever actions we take now must continue to focus on restoring confidence in the integrity of zoo management," Merritt said in the statement.

The most expensive conflict auditors found involved $150,709 in structures the zoo built on the Safari Wild property. The zoo built a horse barn, monkey cages and a shade structure on the property where Salisbury and his business partner plan to run African-style safari tours for paid visitors.

The work was done as part of a now-voided agreement between Salisbury and board chairman Fassil Gabremariam, who resigned from the board after concerns arose about Salisbury's dealings.

When the Tribune first reported about the barns, Salisbury said they were meant to be temporary until the zoo could find some land where exhibit animals could get a break from life on display.

The auditors found the buildings to be substantial, with concrete foundations.

"It would be extremely difficult for those structures to be relocated," said Corrada, the city's board member.

Many of the issues raised in the audit involve animals, particularly species that could be big draws at Salisbury's exotic-animal park.

In some cases, the zoo would order animals it didn't have space for, then ship them to Safari Wild or Salisbury's ranch in Dade City.

In one such case, Safari Wild joined Lowry Park Zoo and several other attractions during early 2007 to import rare birds. Then Salisbury told the zoo's director of collections that Safari Wild could not afford its share of the order, which came to $44,975

Since the birds were already shipped and quarantined in Miami, the zoo paid for Safari Wild's birds. Eleven of the 18 birds went to Safari Wild at no cost to Salisbury.

All told, Salisbury recorded 278 animal transactions with the zoo, many of which raised questions for the auditors.

In April 2004, Salisbury gave the zoo two zebras for a $10,000 credit. One year later, he bought two zebras from the zoo for $2,000.

On the same day, he bought an African antelope known as a bongo for $2,000. Four months later, he gave the zoo a bongo for an $8,500 credit.

When questioned about the animal trading, Salisbury told auditors that the ranges in prices were due to fluctuating values on the open market.

As a result of Salisbury's animal dealing, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums temporarily revoked the accreditation of the zoo, Salisbury and Larry Killmar, the zoo's director of collections.

The suspension means Lowry Park can't borrow animals from other accredited zoos to enhance its exhibits.

The city owns the zoo land and animals. Part of the lease agreement with the Lowry Park Zoological Society stipulates that it meet the zoo association's standards.

The zoo should take "any and all steps necessary" to restore its accreditation, the audit concludes.

The Zoo Board will meet when it gets around to it.If this were a "Moral" issue, the "Christians" of Tampa would be on this and the Church's would be preaching about it and the guy would be branded and thrashed and gone in a day. But, there is no sexual part of this or any innuendo so far, so it is relatively unimportant. It has to have SEX involved to get them excited enough to do something public. Maybe there is a gay zebra they can bring out.

I had tried unsuccessfully to work with Lex, through his vet, Dr. Murray, to give a Persian leopard there an appropriate home. When the leopard became too old and "ugly" to be out on exhibit, the cat was relegated to a night house there. You should ask to see the cats' night houses. It is nothing more than a concrete closet and that is where zoo cats spend most of their time. They are only outside during visiting hours and often they are rotated so that they only see daylight once every few days. We had a 1200 square foot enclosure, with an air conditioned den, and were willing to take the cat and give him a decent home. Lex refused because he didn't want the public to percieve us as having rescued a cat from him. His concern with his own ego was more important than giving the leopard a decent place to live. According to the cat's keepers, they tried to rotate him out into the FL Panther exibit during the night, so that he wasn't locked up all the time, but he hated being locked inside so much that they couldn't even starve him into coming inside, so they quit allowing him out at all. I believe the cat has since died. We tried for several years to get the zoo to let him come here, to no avail. It is an ugly business and if people could see what happens behind the scenes in zoos (as Baird's continued coverage is now showing) they would not support this abusive industry. I think they would be smart to turn it into a rescue zoo where no breeding is done and the only way animals come in the door is if they have to be rescued. Zoos are an outdated institution and they suffer financially because the public isn't stupid. Anyone can see how little zoos are really doing for animals in the wild and anyone can see that wild animals don't belong in cages. Science has brought us out of the dark ages and we now know that animals can experience many of the same kinds of emotions as people can.

I have met Lex, at least casually. This guy has the largest ego you could imagine. He views animals as "commodities" and nothing more. I personally witnessed him bragging about killing the tiger that escape from its enclosure ... almost as if he was on a safari hunt ... big man. I felt like laying him out on the spot because of the arrogance he displayed. He is the worst of "public" officials. His salary is absurd. His benefits are ridiculous. If the city and state does not pursue this man to the end including criminal charges (how could you view it as anything but criminal), then shame on them as they simply will endorse more bad behavior by these worthless public officials. No matter what we are reading here, you know it is even worse than that. I've never really wished for bad things to come to another person, but this guy deserves the full brunt of public humiliation, political lambasting and any criminal charges that can be executed by the most liberal interpretations of state and federal laws. He should be in a cage for a while, it would suit him just perfectly.

Off-duty firefighter Benjamin Harrison had followed erratic drivers before, but he said the driver he tailed for miles Tuesday afternoon was the worst he had seen.
Harrison called 911 to report the man. After watching the car swerve repeatedly, Harrison decided the man could kill someone if Harrison didn't take immediate action. The man stopped at a mobile home park, and Harrison took the man's keys and refused to give them back. That's when the man attacked him with a box cutter, Harrison said.
Harrison, 45, a driver-engineer from Valrico who has been with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue for 13 years, was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital. He since has gone home.
"I feel in my heart that if I didn't take his keys, he would've definitely gotten into a wreck," Harrison said.
Richard Martin Bruneau said he did cut Harrison. Bruneau, however, disagrees with Harrison's version of events. He said he was sober and only was driving in the park. He said his girlfriend drove him there and that he was sitting in a parked car when Harrison attacked him for no reason. He said he cut Harrison in self-defense.
"He grabbed me in a choke hold, and he about killed me," Bruneau said.
Hillsborough County deputies support Harrison's version. They arrested Bruneau at 1:02 p.m. Tuesday, saying he had committed aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Bruneau was released from jail at 12:36 a.m. today after posting $7,500 bail.
Harrison's 911 call is part of an ongoing investigation and was not available to the media today, sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway said
Deputies didn't test Bruneau's blood-alcohol level, Callaway said.
"There was just a discretionary choice by detectives not to do that," he said.
Harrison said he first noticed Bruneau about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday. Harrison, who was driving his personal vehicle, a Chevrolet Camaro, said Bruneau's Toyota was swerving on Valrico Road.
"He was just out of control," Harrison said. "I called 911 and said, 'He's either extremely drunk or he's diabetic and he's having a diabetic crisis.' I witnessed him run a traffic light at about 50 miles an hour, and he never slowed down. I said, 'He's going to kill somebody if I don't get him to stop.' "
Bruneau, 43, of 5455 Burgess Ave., Cocoa, stopped his car at the entrance to a mobile home park on Valrico Road, deputies say.
Harrison said he used a ruse to approach Bruneau. He got out of his car and told Bruneau that a big chunk of Bruneau's Toyota had fallen off.
When Bruneau went to the rear of his car to check, Harrison removed Bruneau's keys.
During the ensuing struggle, Bruneau slashed him, Harrison said.
"The blade was so sharp, I didn't even know he cut me," Harrison said. "He's struggling to get up. Then I noticed the blood. … When I realized I was cut, I let him up, and I was kind of in shock and freaking out."
Harrison said Bruneau went back to the Toyota – he's not sure why – and that it worried him. Harrison got out a gun to defend himself, he said. Tampa Tribune records confirm Harrison has a concealed weapons permit.
Bruneau still had the box cutter, and Harrison warned him he had a gun and fired one shot into the air, Harrison said.
Bruneau disagrees with Harrison's story.
He said he was sitting in the car in the parking lot, waiting for a niece who lives nearby, when Harrison attacked him for no reason. He said he works as a window tinter and carries a razor on his neck and used it to cut Harrison to protect himself.
Bruneau ran away after the fight, say deputies, who used a sheriff's helicopter to locate him.
Harrison had a severe laceration on his right leg, deputies say.
The hospital used 51 staples to close the wound. He does not have tendon or ligament damage but expects to miss four to six weeks of work.
In a separate incident Aug. 7, Bruneau was charged with driving under the influence, refusing to submit to testing and driving with a canceled, suspended or revoked license. He said he "wasn't totally drunk" that night. That case is pending.

Since the police did not see the guy operating the vehicle, there is no probable cause for them to administer a BAT. If the firefighter was a certified LEO, then they could arrest the guy under the firefighter's witness account.Think the firefighter is in the wrong line of public service. Leave the policing to the police. Won't be surprised if the guy doesn't lawyer up and push to get "grand theft motor vehicle" charges brought against the fire fighter.

I think the firefighter was being a good citizen and saw this driver was a danger...and checked it out...whether it was a diabetic issue or alcohol. I think he has learned the hard way how dangerous that can be. I do not understand why the police did not test the suspects alcohol level.

Reminder for the future: Drunk in front of you, be passive, let him be. Drunk coming at you, pray that he doesn't hit you, or if he does, sue the firefighter behind him for not trying to stop him, even when he knew he was drunk, because the drunk won't have a license or insurance. Harrison took Bruneau's keys out of his car just to try and detain him until the cops got there. He only did that because the guy was driving so crazy! The article left out that after Harrison took the keys Bruneau tried getting in Harrison's car and drive off. Harrison grab Bruneau and that is when Bruneau hit Harrison in the face and a fight started. Harrison held him down in self defense waiting for the cops. That's when Bruneau slashed his leg open from knee to anckle. His calf was half hanging out and he got stiches and 51 staples! If you look at Bruneau's arrest photo, he doesn't even have a mark on his neck. I agree that Harrison is not a cop and he should have waited for them to get there, but sometimes things don't happen as we plan them and this was just one of those times.

Bruneau was NOT in a choke hold when he cut Harrison's leg! He was on the ground with Harrison trying to hold him down. He would not have been able to cut Harrison's leg from knee to ankle in a choke hold! Harrison only went for the gun AFTER Bruneau came at him for a SECOND time with the box cutter! Bruneau is not the victim, my brother is. On 7/15/07 Bruneau was charged with obstructing or opposing an officer and on 8/7/08 he was charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license and refusal to submit to testing, which goes to show his character. The only people in danger were my brother and everyone else Bruneau came in contact with that day. Bruneau's story is preposterous. He is clearly lying to try to diminish his criminal actions. His girlfriend drove him there? He was only driving in the park? He was sitting in a parked car? Which one is it? My brother is a very caring and conscientious person. This is not the first time that he has become involved in a situation that was potentially dangerous for him. One time he observed a police officer struggling with an individual who had been pulled over and he stopped and assisted the officer, who may have been killed without his help. He listens to his radio when he is not on duty and has gone to accident scenes to save lives. I can assure you, slc, that if my brother finds himself in a situation where people's lives are at risk and he is able to do something to help them, he will. And that goes to his character. I wish there were more people like him.

Bruneau was not charged with DUI in this case so why is the reason your brother felt it necessary to attack him. He should have waited for the proper authorities (the police) to arrive at the scene so they could decide if he was impared or not. He was not tested so the police must have thought he was not impared or you would think they would have tested him. Bruneau's prior record has nothing to do with this incident. The case from 8/7 is pending so we will see how that turns out. Bruneau has had no prior violent crimes-he was defending himself. Records show Capt. George Sucarichi, a union power, has been cited many times in his 27-year career.

TAMPA - Longtime fire Capt. George Sucarichi was chided five years ago for exploiting the provision that allows Hillsborough County firefighters to work each others' shifts, yet county officials did not launch an inquiry until three months ago.

Chief William Nesmith says the time swap misuse by eight county firefighters including Sucarichi - identified as the worst offender - came to light because of various accusations lobbed during a recent rift in the fire union's leadership.

But personnel records show Nesmith signed off on a 1999 evaluation in which Sucarichi's supervisor noted his frequent absences and urged "a more regular attendance."

The evaluation is one of several reviews from Sucarichi's 27-year career, during which supervisors lauded his leadership skills and his popularity among peers - but chided him for taking excessive amounts of leave, showing up late for shifts, questioning the orders of his superiors and failing to perform basic duties.

Today, Sucarichi is a fire captain making more than $70,000 a year and living in a $456,000 Lutz home. A powerful union leader, he recently was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to the board of directors for the state's job training agency.

This, even though Sucarichi has not reported for his job since October - and worked just 700 hours during the past 21/2 years. Sucarichi uses the time exchange provision and a bank of "professional leave" hours created by union members to get out of his scheduled shifts, Nesmith said.

Records show that since November 2002 Sucarichi used the time swap provision for more than 3,500 of his 7,000 paid hours - far more than seven other firefighters whose work schedules also are being scrutinized by the county, the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Retirement System.

Sucarichi, political affairs director for the union, said he is making the most of the time swap to spend time with his school-age children and deal with union matters.

The contract says firefighters can take up to 120 time exchange hours a month, or more if their supervisors approve it.

Sucarichi points out that his battalion chief signed off on time exchange hours exceeding the 120 hours - a fact that Chief Nesmith acknowledges and vows to prevent from now on.

"Nobody ever discussed with me the issue of exchanges to the point that it was a problem and that it was imperative that I be at work more often," Sucarichi said. "They said they would like me to be at work more often, but that's not the same as an imperative.

"Listen, they like me here."

Sucarichi joined the fire department in 1978 following a yearlong volunteer stint at a station in northern Hillsborough. He was a month shy of his 21st birthday, a Chamberlain High graduate.

After Sucarichi's first six months on the $10,250-a-year job, his supervisor gave him a brief but respectable evaluation: "Employee has good attitude. Works well with others." Sucarichi was given a score of 79.5 out of 100, defined as an "adequate performance."

Over the next few years reviews were mixed - a pattern that would continue for 20-plus years.

Sucarichi's use of sick time in 1979 was deemed "less than desirable." In 1981, he was described as a "better than average firefighter," a "real asset to the morale of the department."

Sucarichi was promoted to driver-engineer in August of that year and put on a standard six-month probation period.

Battalion Chief Kenneth C. Henry wrote in February 1982 that Sucarichi "requires almost constant supervision. Since his promotion ... he appears to do no more than is absolutely necessary."

Henry recommended Sucarichi be kept on probation and denied a merit pay increase.

Sucarichi improved over the next 30 days, got his salary boost and was removed from probation, according to personnel records.

Yet by March 1984, Sucarichi was showing up late and taking so much sick time - more than twice the average of county employees - that supervisors "counseled" him about the problem, according to personnel records.

"I was a young guy, single, probably burning the candle at both ends," Sucarichi said last week. "You're asking me to remember something from a long time ago."

In August 1984, he received a written reprimand for failing to wear a proper uniform and for exhibiting poor conduct at a fire scene in Brandon.

Four months later, Capt. John Weinsheimer recommended that Sucarichi be suspended or demoted. Sucarichi wasn't efficient, didn't care properly for equipment, and spent too much time on personal phone calls, according to Weinsheimer.

"His attitude and actions improve for a short time," Weinsheimer wrote, "but he ultimately returns to his old ways of neglecting his responsibilities."

It took Sucarichi eight months to get out of a career development program in which he was subject to evaluations every two months.

By 1987, following a much improved evaluation, Sucarichi was promoted to captain. His evaluations for the next nine years were consistently positive. Supervisors liked his cooperative attitude, his professionalism and his "above-average performance."

Then came 1996, the first year in which his supervisor documented an improper use of the time exchange provision.

Sucarichi didn't get written approval for another firefighter to work nine of Sucarichi's hours in June 1996, according to the annual evaluation signed by Nesmith. The standby didn't show up on time to work Sucarichi's post.

"He has assured me that he has taken steps to prevent a recurrence of this," then-battalion Chief Newell Branam wrote.

Three years later, Branam wrote that Sucarichi "consistently exceeded the maximum hours allowed for exchange of time," resulting in delayed filing of fire reports and "a lack of continuity of leadership on his shift."

Sucarichi's absences were mentioned again in evaluations for 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

In 2002, Sucarichi missed 60 of his shifts, including 192 unexcused hours of sick and family leave, according to Branam's evaluation, which called Sucarichi a "strong leader" who performed well "on the days that he is present."

In 2003, battalion Chief Russell Macaluso noted that "Capt. Sucarichi's leadership is sorely missed during his frequent "approved' absences."

And again in 2004: "Capt. Sucarichi's ability to lead, can-do attitude and experience are missed when he does so many exchanges of time."

Sucarichi signed the evaluations and said last week he "agreed with the assessment." He faults administrators for continuing to sign off on his swapped hours.

"If the department was signing off on these hours, how was it an abuse?" he said. "We're not doing anything that we don't have a right to do."

Chief Nesmith, currently negotiating the new union contract for firefighters, wants to reduce the maximum monthly exchange hours from 120 to 48. So far, union negotiators - Sucarichi is one of them - aren't biting.

So for now, he said, he is carefully monitoring Sucarichi's schedule and how battalion chiefs handle exchange requests.

"We're watching it very closely now to make sure firefighters are within the guidelines for the time exchange, and we have readily admitted we have to shore this up from the battalion chiefs standpoint," Nesmith said.

"I have talked to George, and he knows that if he steps over the line, we will begin the disciplinary process."

Sucarichi won't be back at work any time soon, though. He said he needs to undergo surgery for a tear in his abdominal wall, "and that might put me out for a few months."

"I've been told I can't work."

Here's an acorn of thought: you run with it. You don't seem like such a bad guy. Good manners, nice looking ... you're in great shape (shockingly different from most of the others I noticed right away) still I saw you looking at me very closely from across a crowded room. You know who I am. You KNOW what they are doing. YOU KNOW. Now I know who you are. That's no problem because, of all the people in tampa who are rats, I don't run with any of them. BUT, the point I'm trying to make is this.
Somewhere in the decision process someone decided that it was MY behaviour that would be changing. Seems to me that if a person doesn't want to end up on youtube that the BEST thing to do would be not to actually climb in the firetruck and take that chance instead of expecting ME not to place you there when after all, you guys are the ones committing the criminal act.
I'm just sayin ....
